This is a surprisingly large pub to find at a railway station and offers two spacious rooms and an outdoor seating area.

The main bar is a pretty standard affair but the side bar is very roomy and includes a pool table, together with a large amount of seating.

As is always the case with venues of this nature, the clientele is extremely transient and predominately male - think businessmen necking a quick pint while reading a newspaper and you’ll get the idea.

Service is friendly and efficient, although the staff employ the annoying practice of giving you your change on a tray, clearly expecting a tip, when all they’ve done is their job.

There isn’t a spectacular choice of beers, but what is here is served to an acceptable standard, although not to the level that would make this a destination.

Aside from that the Victoria and Albert is fine for a pint or two and the bonus of a decent seating area on the station concourse make this a good place for a spot of people watching before you head off on the next leg of your journey.
