Despite being located in a five star hotel frequented by millionaires and celebrities, the food on offer at St David’s Hotel is risibly amateurish and farcically expensive. This review is going to be short, because you can only say something is bad so many times before it gets boring. One example dish: starter of king prawns on artichoke hearts. Think shrivelled tiny packet prawns from a supermarket, and some tired, worn-out artichoke, with a bit of olive oil swilled on top. Terrible. One example of service: A table asked for advice on wine, a young man was sent over who politely explained that he was Muslim, and hence tee-total - that has got to be a first for a sommelier! Avoid Tides at all costs.
