The Ace roundabout in dreary Chessington is an unlikely place to find fine dining. But what awaits inside is Chinese food and service of a standard well above the average.
When you enter, the perpetual din from the A3 disappears and you are transported to a rather glamorous place, complete with a bar lined with Champagne and a huge fish tank containing Koi carp, which runs along the entire length of one side of the restaurant.
That’s enough of the gushing descriptives, now onto the food. It is excellent.
Gone is the greasy heaviness of your average neighbourhood venue - at The Regent you can actually taste the individual flavours and spices in the food. Each course is cooked with a delicate and expert touch and arrives fresh and warm to your table.
The service is attentive, polite and was almost flawless in terms of timing.
Although slightly more expensive than your average Chinese (Around £80 for two, with wine and service. Note: The food would have easily served four.) it is well worth it if you are in this neck of the woods. Definitely a place to return to.
Overall - top quality food in an incongorous location, but well worth the detour.

"Unusual place with great service and a nice hybrid menu. Been here several times over the last couple of years and never been disappointed. Would thoroughly recommend for a good night out."
