This large branch of the ubiquitous chain feels like it is two separate bars as you walk through from one of the two entrances.

It is a large and spacious venue which moves from a more wide open bar into comfortable booths and a sofa by a log fire.

This is a usual no frills Wetherspoons and the drinks are cheap. But instead of attracting a beer monster clientele the people who gather here are drawn from a wide cross section of society.

As a result, it almost has a pub of yesteryear atmosphere to it and is friendly, comfortable and relaxing.

So credit where credit is due - this is not a bad pub if you want a cheap drink and a decent place to sit and chat.
