Mannakoo has only been open for a short while but already it has made a good impression with the slightly older revellers of Reading.
The over 25s bar/club is cool and friendly, and has a good selection of drinks on offer, especially whiskies and brandies (the latter of which are served in proper full size balloons, unlike many places).
The bar itself is reminiscent of an American diner and for that reason it’s a comfortable place to stand, despite ample comfortable seating.
Located opposite the station on the site of the former Jolly Porter pub, Mannakoo is a good starting or finishing point for many on a night out, and you can be sure to get a warm welcome from the people who work there.
Open until late most nights, Mannakoo also offers live DJ sets and student nights at various points in the week.
A funky, friendly independent bar that's well worth a visit.
