Loch Fyne (seafood)

The Loch Fyne chain offers good quality fish in a variety of settings, depending on which town you are in, but unfortunately the Reading branch too closely resembles a pub.

Putting this aside, if you like seafood then this is definitely worth a visit. From simple fillets of fresh fish to huge platters, offering everything from oysters and langoustines to mussels and scallops all served on a bed of ice and seafood, almost everything edible born from the sea is on offer here.

Loch Fyne offers quality food which is fresh and reasonably priced. You can also buy fish and shellfish from the on-site counter which is a novel idea. Fairly standard drinks on offer.

"Just had a meal here for a special occasion and overall it was pretty good, shame it was vastly overpriced. The staff seemed stressed and the place had a general feeling of disarray about it, even though it wasn’t completely full. Had to wait half an hour for our table and had a run in with an extremely stroppy waitress at the end. Food would have been so much better if it wasn’t about £3 overpriced per dish."
