Not dissimilar to its previous incarnation of Bar 38, Ivory Lounge is an airy bar with  boothed seating at the sides and expensive drinks.

Set on two levels, the venue is aiming to be cool in a modern, minimalist way, and  partially succeeds at night, although in a slightly sterile way.

But during the day the place already looks a bit tired, despite a fairly recent re-fit,  and could do with a fresh look.

There's a descent array of drinks on offer, together with the now ubiquitous  cocktails, and an inexpensive food menu during the day, which offers tapas dishes  from £2.45.

The Ivory Lounge is fine as it goes, but just lacks any unique or original element to  make it stand out from rest of the chain bars.
