Basilico pizza opens in Crouch End
July 2010

Basilico, the original delivery company specializing in pizzas cooked in wood fired ovens, is set to open a new branch this summer in London’s Crouch End. The new site will be open daily for takeaway and delivery, as well as dine-in.

Basilico has become known for its pizzas, all hand-prepared and always baked in the wood-fired oven to achieve that authentic, crispy base, available in three sizes (10”, 13” and 18”) and featuring a wide range of toppings.

The chefs have just created a new pizza bread for the summer, which includes Z’atar, a popular Middle Eastern spice blend of toasted sesame seeds, dried thyme, dried marjoram and sumac mixed with olive oil.

Basilico offers more than pizza though, and menus across the group now list a new build-your-own salad option and a number of oven-roasted dishes, such as whole chicken. Amongst the desserts, a new 125ml tub of Oddone’s ice cream will be added, to increase choice.

Exclusive to the new Crouch End outlet will be an eat-in operation for up to 12 diners, with pizza by-the-slice available, to especially target the family market.
